Dukes is a seasoned expert in the realm of athletics and strength training, with a distinguished background that includes playing football at the University of Georgia and earning his CrossFit Level 1 certification. With more than three decades of weightlifting and athletics experience, Coach Dukes masterfully combines time-honored techniques with contemporary methodologies to create comprehensive training programs for his students.
He is the visionary behind the popular "Lifting Club" at our facility, a program he designed to foster gradual improvements in strength. This program is structured around two long-running cycles that focus on essential movement patterns, such as Squats, Bench Presses, Deadlifts, along with vital bodyweight exercises like Pull-Ups and Dips. His approach ensures that participants develop a solid foundation of strength and technique, paving the way for long-term athletic development.
On Sundays, Coach Dukes leads a rigorous 48-minute full-body workout that challenges even the most seasoned athletes. His unique training style emphasizes muscle isolation and antagonist muscle work, maximizing the effectiveness of every set and counter-set. This intense session not only tests physical limits but also enhances the mind-muscle connection. Athletes are taught to understand the role of each muscle, how to engage them more effectively, and to appreciate the intricacies of their movements under varying volumes and time under tension.
